Best Wineries to Visit in Samaria

Psagot Winery is frequently named as one of the best wineries in Samaria

Whether you’re a wine connoisseur in the making or just curious about the hype surrounding Israeli wine, we know the perfect place to start exploring: the best wineries in Samaria.

Why do we call this the perfect place for you? After all, how different can Californian, French and Israeli grapes really be? The truth is, wine from Israel’s biblical heartland is unlike anything else.

Why Wineries in Samaria Are Unlike Anywhere Else

For starters, most people visit wineries to enjoy great wine—and Israel is no exception. We personally know a winemaker who entered his wine in a prestigious competition and took home the gold medal after just a few years in the business. Some of his competitors were French vintners with generations of experience.

Award-winning wine is just the beginning when visiting the wineries of Samaria. Here, you’re not only tasting fine vintages—you’re tasting the fulfillment of ancient prophecies. After the land lay desolate for thousands of years, the idea of drinking wine grown in Israel once seemed unimaginable. While Israeli wine is more common today, it remains one of the most remarkable miracles of our time. Just 25 years ago, vineyards were a rare sight in the Samarian hills. Now, nearly every mountainside is covered in vines cultivated for winemaking. It’s a transformation straight out of scripture—Joel 2 speaks of vats overflowing with wine, a phenomenon which we’ve personally experienced a number of times!

When you drink wine from the biblical heartland, you’re sipping more than just award-winning vintages—you’re tasting liquid prophecy. I’m sure that leads you to this question, “Which wineries should I visit?”

You’re in luck! Here is a list of our favorite wineries in Samaria:

1) The Inheritance Winery

The Inheritance winery, located in Elon Moreh, is a fantastic place to start. Do you remember the story we mentioned early? This winery is run by the farmer whose wine surpassed that of the French vintners who had been in the business for generations. Owner and founder Nati Shvalb is still a relatively new name in the winemaking world, and his boutique winery reflects that with its modest, unpretentious charm. But rather than detract from the experience, it only enhances it. If you enjoy sipping wine in quiet, rural settings, you’re sure to love Nati’s winery.

Nati isn’t just a winemaker—he’s also a shepherd. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to see newborn lambs during your visit. Nati is a great example of the brave pioneers of Judea and Samaria. Through his work with the sheep, Nati cultivates a large portion of the surrounding land, playing a key role in helping keep Elon Moreh a strong and self-sustaining community.

2) Kabir Winery

Kabir Winery is arguably one of the finest in Samaria—and the numerous awards it has received speak for themselves. Visiting Kabir is more than just a wine tasting, it’s a luxurious experience. When you visit Kabir Winery nestled on the opposite side of Elon Moreh from Nati’s winery, you will have an unforgettable experience. Guests can enjoy a breathtaking sit-down meal overlooking the vineyard-covered mountainside.

During the wine tasting, you’ll also have the chance to step into the wine cellar and learn about every stage of the winemaking process—from grape selection to bottling and even proper aeration before drinking. A visit to Kabir Winery offers an exceptional blend of scenery, food, and world-class wine.

3) Har Bracha Winery

Har Bracha Winery holds a special place in our hearts—and not just because it shares a mountain with HaYovel’s base of operations. In fact, this winery is where our story began. Twenty years ago, HaYovel’s founder met the winemaker, who needed help bringing in his grape harvest. That simple act of assistance sparked something much bigger. Today, volunteers from over thirty countries have come to Judea and Samaria to help with the harvest!

While visiting Har Bracha Winery, you’ll find yourself situated on the edge of the mountain, with sweeping views that stretch for miles across the landscape. Time your visit right, and you might even catch the sun setting over the vast mountain ranges—a truly breathtaking sight.

You’ll also have the option to enjoy a traditional Middle Eastern meal—and trust us, you won’t want to miss it. It’s the kind of warm, generous hospitality that feels like a visit to your grandmother’s house. One course follows another, each more delicious than the last, offering a true taste of the region’s rich culinary and cultural traditions.

Since you’re on the same mountaintop as HaYovel, this is a great opportunity to come and visit our base of operations, plant a tree to take part in the restoration process, and meet some of our team members! You can reach out to us here to schedule a visit.

4) Psagot Winery

Our final winery is by no means the least—Psagot Winery stands out as the largest on our list and, arguably, the most beautiful. More than just a winery, Psagot doubles as an event venue and charming café.

One of Psagot’s greatest advantages is its location: less than an hour’s drive from the Old City of Jerusalem, making it an ideal stop for both locals and visitors. From its elegant Jerusalem stone buildings, you can enjoy sweeping views of the distant mountains—a setting as memorable as the wine itself.

A guided tour takes the experience even deeper, offering a glimpse into the winery’s impressive barrel room, where thousands of liters of wine rest and mature in oak casks, slowly aging to perfection.
