What’s the Best Way to Travel to Israel?

The best way to travel to Israel

The best way to travel to a foreign country is a hot topic. Do you travel like a local? Go to the tourist spots? Places people have never heard of? We have an answer for you, at least when it comes to traveling to the Holy Land. The best way to travel to Israel is through volunteering.

When you go on a tour to Israel you can expect to see ancient ruins and historical places. This type of experience can be had in Rome or Greece. Don’t get me wrong; seeing the historic and biblical sites is imperative to your Christian faith. However, something even greater happens when you break out of the “typical tourist” mold and volunteer in Israel.

Since we think it’s important to see the history of your faith, we’ll make sure that you volunteer and tour the must-see sights. For most people, the most impactful part of their trip to Israel isn’t seeing the past. Instead, it’s seeing the present and the future.

What do we mean by “seeing the future?” It’s not like something out of a cheesy movie. Our idea of seeing the future is by participating in hands-on, volunteer service in the present.

The Best Way to Travel to Israel is Through Volunteering

When you volunteer in Israel, one of the biggest impacts will be the positive change you’re able to make. Once you arrive in Israel, you will see the vast expanses of desolation. However, after you spend time volunteering, suddenly you’ll see the blooms of redemption start to form. This redemption has a deeper impact than just the barren landscape being restored or the long destroyed relationship between the Jewish people and Christians being repaired.

Volunteers plant trees on the mountains of Israel

Is the desolation actually reversible? We can definitively say yes. For the last twenty years, our team has been working in Judea and Samaria. When we arrived, there were scarcely any vineyards covering the mountainsides, let alone trees. Today, the reality is far different. A drive through the breathtaking mountainscapes will bring in sights of countless vineyards.

Even more so, as part of our Greening Israel Project, we’re taking this redemption process a step further: we’re replanting and re-establishing the forests spoken of in ancient times. When you drive through Judea and Samaria right now, the Biblical stories about lions and bears dwelling in the vast forests make little to no sense, but in another twenty years, the fruit of our labor will begin to shine through or, rather, shade the hot and shining sun.

Being Part of a Bigger Story

This is what we mean when we say that by volunteering in Israel you get the best way to travel because you can see the present and future of Israel’s landscape. In Rome, you can visit the Colosseum, but despite its impressive nature, it will never undergo restoration that will impact humanity in the future. Its history was in ancient times and it has no future. In Israel, you gaze into ancient history, put in work into the present, and one can predict with certainty what the future holds for that site.

The hope for a positive future isn’t the only credence to the reversibility of the desolation. There is one other major factor spoken of by the biblical prophets. In Jeremiah 31, it talks of the vineyards being planted on the mountains of Samaria. In Isaiah 55, it reveals that trees will, one day, be planted in place of the thorns and briars. When you travel to Israel and volunteer, you’re not just admiring the past, but fulfilling the future prophecies spoken millenia ago.

The Best Way to Travel to Israel Might Just Change Your Life

Travel changes people, but when you travel and volunteer, the change is exponential. When you travel and fulfill millenia-old prophecies to make an impact that will positively affect multiple future generations and literally change the world, the change in yourself is astonishing.

Spending time working in the fields of Israel will change your entire life’s outlook. Zeal and passion for the people, the land, and the restoration of Israel will captivate your thoughts and be one of the highest priorities in your everyday life.

The idea of the holy soil under your fingernails and the sweat you pour out for the land will overshadow the concept of five-star hotels. Here at HaYovel, we believe that when you travel, the part that stands out the most in your head is the impact you’re able to make and the way you are impacted yourself. With that in mind, what translates to the best way to travel in Israel is by volunteering in the biblical heartland where you can see the past, present, and future collide in an incredibly beautiful way.
