Extended Stay

Extended Stay Opportunities

We are looking for skilled and qualified volunteers who are able to join our staff team in Israel for anywhere from 4 weeks to 12 weeks at a time. Long-term volunteers will work alongside our staff team and be assigned a role working in our day-to-day staff operations. We have a limited number of positions available, and acceptance will be based on your skills and experience, health and fitness, and the greatest need at the time. Extended stay opportunities are primarily designed for those 50 and younger, and require a high level of health and fitness.

Long-term volunteers will be with us for our usual 2-week and 3-week volunteer trips (we call this “on-season”) as well as seasons in between when it is just our staff team (we call this “off season”).

During the on-season, our kitchen team will be cooking all your meals and you’ll be helping with our volunteer program logistics and operations (planting trees, harvesting grapes, or pruning).

During the off-season, groceries and kitchen access will be provided, but cooking will be done on your own. Off-season volunteering will be conducted on an as-needed basis and may include things like caretaking at our forestry sites, farm maintenance, night watches, security, or fire-fighting. On weekends, you will be free to utilize Israel’s public transportation to visit tourist sites if you’d like, or you can stay at our base on the Mount of Blessing. Long-term volunteers are welcome and encouraged to join our staff in Bible studies, prayer, worship, Shabbat celebrations, and community fellowship.

If you have never come on a trip with HaYovel before, please explore our other short-term trips first. Extended stay opportunities are primarily for people who have already worked with us before by coming on one of our harvest, pruning, or tree planting trips.
