Israel Travel Status (June 28, 2021)

Many of you are wondering if Israel will be open for volunteers to join HaYovel’s programs in Israel this summer and fall. We have delayed advertising our programs or sending updates as long as possible in the hopes that Israel would fully open their borders.

However, we feel that it is important to let you know where things currently stand.

At this time, COVID is almost non-existent in Israel. Nearly all of Israel’s restrictions inside the country have been lifted. Because Israel has been so successful in conquering the pandemic inside the country, they are taking very strict precautions as to who is allowed into the country.

At this point in time, Israel’s policies only allow for groups and individuals to enter the country who have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and can provide official documents verifying your vaccination.

What does this mean for our volunteer programs?

While all of our previously scheduled volunteer programs are currently paused, we have decided to open up the following programs:

  • Aug 10 – Oct 19 (10 week trip)
  • Aug 25 – Sept 14 (3 week trip)
  • Sep 30th – Oct 14th (2 week trip)

If you are able to comply with Israel’s regulations regarding entry into Israel and are interested in coming to Israel this summer or fall, please visit our website for more information about each program and how to sign up.

Entry into Israel is by no means certain, and rules and regulations are subject to change at any time. If you register for a volunteer program, please be aware that trips could change or even be cancelled at any time. We are doing our best to keep up with continually changing policies, but sometimes things change very suddenly. We will do our best to keep you updated and informed of any changes.

The situation regarding COVID is improving in Israel nearly every day. We remain hopeful that Israel’s borders will fully open in the near future and we will be able to continue with our normal volunteer programs.

Make sure to keep an eye on your inbox (or sign up for our emails if you haven’t already) as we will be the first to let you know when Israel’s borders fully open.
