Founder – Tommy Waller

Tommy Waller graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, Tennessee in 1979 and pursued a degree in Business Administration at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, graduating with a Bachelors degree in 1986. While attending APSU, he was hired by Federal Express and worked his way through promotional ranks into an upper management position. In 1995, after 13 years in the fast paced corporate world, Mr. Waller left Federal Express to pursue a private business venture. 1 year later he made the decision to invest all of his business resources and skills back into his family. Together with wife Sherri, the Wallers moved to a small Amish/Mennonite Community and endeavored to study organic farming through practical application – working hand-in-hand with his children from seed to harvest. During these years a spark was ignited within the collective hearts of the Waller family to somehow utilize this unique combination of skills and experiences – business and organic farming – to bless the nation of Israel. In 2004, Tommy made an exploratory trip to Israel with several other business men from the United States and one year later HaYovel was established. The mission of HaYovel is to facilitate the prophetic restoration of Israel by supporting one aspect of Israeli infrastructure – the small independent farmers. So inspiring is the story of the Waller family that it has caught the attention of many newspaper headlines and professional cameras. In 2005, Franklin Springs Media beautifully captured the Waller family in the award winning documentary “The Journey Home”. Today, the Waller Family is known by thousands of families throughout the United States, Israel and the world. Tommy is highly esteemed as a man of integrity who recognizes that investing his life in God’s purposes far surpasses the temporal treasures of corporate life. His family and thousands more thank him for the bold step he took that would impact lives and an entire nation, forever.
