Traveling to Israel is a lifelong dream for many people. For many however, it remains just that – a dream. Not because of unwillingness, but because of un-affordability. This leaves us with the question: “Are there affordable trips to Israel?”
If you’re wanting to live out your dream of visiting Israel, we have the perfect option for you. HaYovel offers some of the most affordable trips to Israel you’ll find anywhere! Even more than that, we offer off-the-beaten-path experiences that you won’t get on a standard Israel tour.
Nestled in the biblical heartland of Israel (also known as Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria), there is more history to be found than you could ever find at a beach-side resort in Tel-Aviv.
Not only that, but you’ll also have the opportunity to be engulfed in the culture, meet the people of Israel, and even get your hands dirty in a volunteer service project. Before delving in too much into what you can experience on our trips to Israel, here’s some proof that we’re actually one of the most affordable groups to tour Israel with.
What Do Most Tours to Israel Charge?
It’s one thing to say that we offer one of the most affordable trips to Israel, but here is the evidence proving it. The price for our two-week grape harvest program in 2025 is $1,440 USD (excluding airfare). This includes your housing, meals, and transportation. Here are some examples of other not so affordable trips to Israel scheduled during similar times of the year:
- The Israel Tourism Consulate offers a 10 day trip for $2,019. That’s four days shorter than our harvest program, and costs $500 more.
- The 10 day Pilgrim Tour costs even more at $2,500 for a 10 day trip.
- Holy Land Tours exceeds the Pilgrim tour by nearly $100 with its cost of $2,595.
- Bein Harim Tours’ 10 day trip is a closer comparison to our trip sitting at $1,990.
We don’t want to bash or criticize these tour companies at all. They offer options to visit Israel and are also more inexpensive than many tours to Israel. Typical tours have their place, and can be a great way to experience a new country or culture.
What helps HaYovel remain one of the most affordable options for visiting the Holy Land however, is our mission to serve the Jewish people through volunteering. In order to allow as many people to visit Israel as possible, we make sure affordability is a priority and profit is put on a backburner.
You may be asking yourself this question though: “will I get more from a more expensive trip?”
What Does HaYovel Have to Offer?
Since we are one of the more affordable options for traveling to Israel, you may be concerned that you’ll be sleeping in a cave with a rock as a pillow like Jacob from the Bible. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure you have a real pillow and, so far, we haven’t had anyone wrestle with angels on one of our trips. Maybe you’ll be the first!
In all seriousness, we make sure that you have all the necessities. You’ll have your own bed, access to showers, bathrooms, and home-cooked meals.
More than room accommodations, our trips boast impressive itineraries. We take you to the places that you wouldn’t get to see on a typical tour of the Holy Land, including sites such as:
- Ancient Shiloh
- Elon Moreh
- Jerusalem
- Hebron
- Mount of Blessing
Why Do We Have Affordable Trips to Israel?
Our mission is to bless and serve the Jewish people in their biblical heartland through volunteer service projects, and the more people who are able to join us, the more we can bless the land and people of Israel.
What does this look like? While there are a lot of ways to serve, we’ve found our niche in agriculture.
As with all agriculture, the time of year that you come to Israel dictates which type of agriculture you’ll be able to volunteer in. For example, if you want to harvest grapes, you will be coming in the fall. If you want to take part in pruning grape vines, you will come in winter. We also have options to plant vines and trees.
Don’t worry, if you want to spend a few nights in a hotel, we have options for you. On our Heartland Experience trip, you’ll be able to focus more on touring Judea and Samaria and spend a few nights in a hotel in Jerusalem. This is a great option if you’d rather have the “tour” experience.
